Client Portal (Qount)
Do you have a client portal?
Yes — Taylor, Torres & Company uses the Qount Client Portal (pronounced “Count,” like accounting). It’s your secure hub for sharing documents, accessing your tax returns, and communicating with our team.
What information is available on the portal?
You’ll find:
-
- Client Uploads of Documents you’ve provided to us
-
- Copies of your completed tax returns for each year we’ve prepared
Can I use the portal as permanent storage for all my tax records?
No. Please keep your own copies.
Our retention policy requires us to delete documents after:
-
- 6 years for current clients
-
- 3 years for former clients
Can I upload my tax documents into the portal?
Absolutely — and we prefer it. Uploading through Qount is encrypted, secure, and notifies us instantly.
How do I upload documents?
-
- Select #Documents
- Click Your Name
- Open Upload Your Documents
- Drag and drop files or click the plus (+) icon to browse and upload
I uploaded the wrong document and can’t delete it. What should I do?
No stress — it happens. Just send us a quick message through the portal and we’ll remove it for you.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes. We encourage clients to download the mobile app for easier access and ensure you are notified of all communications posted in the portal. Android users click here; Apple users click here
When prompted for the firm name, enter taylorcocpa

IRS & State Refunds
Where’s my refund?
Check your refund status here:
-
- Massachusetts DOR: https://www.mass.gov/how-to/check-the-status-of-your-ma-income-tax-refund
-
- Rhode Island Division of Taxation: https://tax.ri.gov/online-services/wheres-my-refund
The refund tracker says “processing” for weeks. Can you see what’s wrong?
Once your return is accepted, the IRS or state does not give us any additional updates.
If they need something, they will contact you directly.
Tax Season Questions
Why can’t I have a sit‑down appointment to get my taxes done?
Our workflow is designed so your preparer can focus on accuracy, efficiency, and review. This system gives you a higher‑quality return with multiple layers of oversight. We proactively plan throughout the year. We highly recommend setting up a meeting outside of tax season to review any changes.
Why am I being invoiced now?
Your engagement letter confirms your fee, so we invoice once the fee is known.
Why do I have to use the portal? Why not email or drop off documents?
Email is not secure for sensitive information.
You may still mail or drop off documents, it is not preferred. The portal provides encrypted, compliant, secure transmission — and keeps everything organized for both you and our team.
Can you email me instead of using the portal?
We reply through the portal to protect your data and maintain a clear record of communication.
You should never send personal information by email.
Why do I need to sign an engagement letter?
It outlines our services, prevents misunderstandings, and is required by our insurance carrier.
How do I get copies of my tax return, estimate vouches or source documents?
Your Qount Portal provides 24/7/365 secure access to all documents and messages. Simply click on #Documents/Name/Tax Returns/Year
What is the last date to submit my information?
We process returns first‑come, first‑served.
Information received after March 21st may result in an $75 filing extension fee.
Who is working on my tax return? Who sees my information?
Your return is prepared by a team, but your assigned preparer reviews and approves all work.
All staff follow strict confidentiality standards and may only access files they are assigned.
Do I have to complete an organizer?
Yes. The organizer helps ensure your return is complete and compliant with current tax laws.
